Overall, this pole pruner did exactly what I needed once the mechanism was tuned. It’s lightweight, reaches high branches, and works well for small to medium trimming tasks. With a little maintenance and the right handling, it’s a capable manual pruning tool.

Been using this to clean up my almond tree that’s basically been ignored for like 10 years, and honestly it surprised me how well it handled the job. The pole gets super long, and I like that the handles come in sections so you can build the length you actually need instead of wrestling with one giant stick. The pruner itself is sharp, I was cutting 1‑inch branches pretty easy. Anything thicker than that, I’d skip the pruner and just use the saw, way faster and less headache. Only thing that bugged me was the string… it broke on me twice, but I’m pretty sure I clipped it by accident while cutting. Luckily I had spare line to reattach. The saw attachment also loosens up after like 5–8 cuts, so I kept stopping to tighten it. Not a dealbreaker, just kinda annoying when you’re up high. But overall, it cuts great and made a big difference on my overgrown tree. It's pretty lightweight, and my arms didn't feel strained.

I found this tree saw to be very impressive. The clipper head made short work of limbs that needed to be cleaned out, while the saw was great for larger limbs. I do not have a point of reference for the amount of effort is saved with the pulley system, but science says effort is saved. I think it's best feature for me however is the segmented pole. You can add or remove sections to adjust for conditions. And the joins are part of the pole itself.

I have some bushy trees behind my fence, they are tall and hanging over plus blocking my sunlight. This pole saw is a great help for me, I like that I can extend the pole to the length I’m comfortable with. I’m not good with climbing a ladder so this extended pole saw works for my household. Just bear in mind that the longer the pole gets, the harder it is to steer and maneuver. Overall, this is a useful tool for yards with tell trees and I am happy with this purchase.

This Pole Saw is a great starter for a homestead or property management. The length is adjustable and when fully extended, it can still support the manipulation of the pole for proper branch/limb removal without difficulty. It is surprisingly lightweight compared to the length and quality of materials. The pole saw was easy to assemble, but we did have one problem, which is why we marked it 4-stars - For normal assembly using the wing nuts on the bolt to attach the saw head to the handle portion by tightening it hand-tight was not enough to keep the parts from falling apart during use. We hand tightened everything when assembling, but that one wing nut that attaches the pole to the saw head fell off during use and we could not find it! We recommend either using some pliers to tighten the wing nuts or find some other kind of fastener to assemble that part. It did put a damper on the task at hand when we had to find a new fastener to replace the one that fell out. Otherwise, this did the job and we would recommend.

Very convenient for cutting hard to reach branches without needing a ladder. The extendable pole gives great reach, and the built-in rope-operated scissors work surprisingly well for smaller limbs. The saw is sharp and cuts through branches with ease. Nice bonus that it comes with garden gloves and eye protection glasses, making it ready to use right out of the box. Great addition for yard and garden maintenance.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this pole trimmer. Upon putting it together I thought it was going to be a dud. Super easy to put together, but It seems flimsy in construction but it works and works pretty well. I took down some smaller branches with it. Some were slightly over an inch, maybe 1.25” and it took them down with ease. Mostly alder and willow if you know your wood. The blade on it is pretty sharp so it cuts with ease. I’m wondering how long this blade will keep an edge before I have to sharpen it though. Time and use will tell.

This is my first time using this type of trimmer. There is a learning curve, but once I got the hang of holding a 13.6 1/2ft pole and pulling on a rope while keeping the sharp knife edge in place.... well it works AND it's a lot easier to use this Pole Saw than it is using a ladder and a hand saw or pruning shears. The Pole Saw, set up for its maximum length, is still pretty lite weight and easier to use than I expected. The blade is sharp and cuts green wood pretty easy. For the thicker limbs I did end up using the saw, which was actually easier to control... this blade too was sharp and made short work of several larger limbs. I even found the saw part of the system was just as convenient to use with just one pole section. I won't have to use my SawsAll for garden trimming of larger limbs any more. This product comes with some safety gear and a bag. If there was anything negative about the product, I would say it is the style of the storage bag. I have seen similar products offer more form fitting storage that, in my opinion, would be easier to store when not in use. Conclusion: At this price point, this is a good buy and I would recommend this purchase to my friends

This is one of the least expensive pole saws I looked. As usual the package arrived on the specified date. Very nicely and secured well in the box. Putting it together was a snap and the first I used it (the only time so far) it worked just as I hoped it would. Pruner is very sharp and the saw cut through a 4 inch branch with no issue.

Really nice saw on this item, cuts well and I was pleasantly surprised by the way it works, very nice and thank you for offering a fair price and good quality on this item. Also, the limb cutter for smaller branches works supremely well.

This was a good quality pole saw. I’m glad I purchased it. I cut down several branches, both thick and thin, and the blades stage sharp.

Impressive - especially at this price. Strong, sturdy, works well for me. Pole sections can be added or removed for desired height. And each section has a grip making it unique to handle and maneuver. It breaks down to under 2' for storage.

FAQ

What is the difference between a pole pruner and a pole saw?

A pole pruner is designed to cut smaller branches with a rope-operated cutting head, while a pole saw uses a saw blade to cut thicker limbs. This 2-in-1 manual tree pruner combines both functions, so you can use the pruner head for smaller branches and the curved pole saw blade for thicker limbs around backyard and fruit trees.

Is this a manual pole saw or an electric pole saw?

This is a manual pole saw and tree pruner. It does not use a battery, motor, gas, or chainsaw chain. The pruning head works with a pull-rope system, while the curved SK5 steel saw blade is used manually for thicker branches.

How long is the pole saw when fully assembled?

When fully assembled, the pole saw reaches up to 13.6 ft. The sectional pole design allows you to add or remove pole sections depending on the branch height, making it suitable for higher branches as well as lower trimming tasks.

Can it cut thick branches?

Yes, it can handle thicker branches with the curved pole saw blade. For smaller branches, use the rope-operated pruner head. The product page lists a maximum pruning diameter of 1.18 inches for the pruner head, so thicker limbs should be cut with the saw blade rather than the pruning cutter.

Can I use it for fruit trees and backyard trees?

Yes. This manual pole saw and tree pruner is suitable for routine backyard tree trimming, fruit tree pruning, seasonal yard cleanup, and common branch maintenance around the home. It is designed for everyday pruning tasks, not for cutting large tree trunks or heavy-duty commercial tree removal.

Is this tool suitable for hedge trimming?

No. This tool is made for pruning tree branches, not for shaping hedges, shrubs, or bushes. For hedge trimming, a hedge trimmer or shrub trimmer would be more suitable. This pole pruner is better for reaching overhead branches and cutting small to medium tree limbs.

Do I need a chainsaw for backyard branch trimming?

Not always. For routine backyard pruning, small branches, fruit trees, and medium branch maintenance, this manual pole saw can be a simpler option than a chainsaw. However, for large trunks, very thick limbs, or professional tree removal, a chainsaw or professional service may be more appropriate.
